Dickens CarollersIt’s a holiday celebration! Downtown Owego came alive with over 5,000 people on Friday evening, December 5, 2008 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Owego sparkled with new holiday lighting and great festivities. Christmas lights reflecting on the river, historic buildings lit with candles, Children’s choirs, dancers, carolers, strolling musicians, juggler, a visit with Santa, food, Christmas specials and all the sights and sounds of Christmas.

FireworksThe festivities began at 6 pm in downtown Owego with the lighting of the Village capped off by an exciting riverside fireworks show at 8 pm! The shops were filled to the brim with gift merchandise – people came to have dinner with the family, enjoy shopping, plenty of warm free refreshments, cookies, prizes and goodies to get in the mood for the holidays. The Tioga County Historical Museum's O’Tannenbaum was open for all to see over 100 decorated Christmas trees and wreaths.
